Workshop Practices
Every day you go to work you should think hard about
how you can ensure:- You own personal safety
- The safety of those around you
- A clean working environment
- Good practices are carried out
Cleanliness:
Preparation Work Area:
- Sweep floors every day
- Dispose of masking paper after use
- Do not sand near vehicles being prepared for topcoats
- Use dust extracting sanding equipment
- Keep floors, walls and tools clean
Spray Booth:
- Hose out daily
- Do not spray against walls
- Keep hoses rolled up
- Don’t take dust laden vehicles into spray booth
Paint Preparation Areas:
- Keep lids on paints
- Don’t prepare vehicles near paint preparation areas
- Use an isolated room for paint mixing
Safety and Good Practices:
Wear Protective Clothing
- Gloves
- Eye protection
- Air fed breathing equipment
- Coveralls
- Dust masks
- Protective footwear
Enforce Safe Work Practices:
- Wipe up all paint or solvent spills
- Do not smoke
- Do not leave solvent soaked cloths in workshop
