Enclosed is a copy of the G.M. brochure which launched the 90 million pound paint plant in 1986, when Vauxhall changed from T.P.A. to T.S.A. at Luton. The following notes are taken from the Vauxhall motors supervisors training manual for paint processing techniques. Once the body leaves the solder finishing booth, removal of all lead dust mill oils and dirt is carried out and the body sprayed with Hi-lite. This remains wet and allows inspection of mark defects as bodies pass special lighting units. All defects are marked with special inks or crayons. Any areas of rust are removed with acid cleaner and wiped off. If rust is heavy, steel wool is used with cleaner.
