Possible causes:

(a) Too much paint applied because - gun too close. gun moved too slowly, too large fluid tip. low capacity air cap, low air pressure, narrow fan width.

(b) Poor drying conditions, lack of air movement, lack of warmth, insufficient drying times between coats.

(c) Thinner too slow or incorrect ratio.

Rectification may be achieved by flatting and polishing, but many pastel colours may show a colour difference within runs which may need recoating.
