Possible causes:

Thinner too fast, viscosity too low, air pressure too high, gun too far away, temperature too high, poor Spray technique, overspray, poor extraction, paint rebound, incorrect gun set up, turbulence in spray booth.

Lacquer paints are normally dry and non-adhesive, while synthetic and two packs are strongly adherent. Polishing will remove lacquer paints but may prove more difficult with synthetic and two packs.
