• Paint which marks with nail pressure. Paint which marks (marks when a nail is rubbed across the surface) may be soft and mark or may be hard (harder than a finger nail) and, mark because of nail being rubbed away by the paint.

    Possible causes:

    Excessively heavy application, incorrect catalyst levels, baking schedules, hardener ratio or solvents, poor drying conditions or drying times between coats.

    Contamination from wax grease or oil may result in soft paint.

    Confined drying conditions (closed can effect) with synthetics being a particular problem when cold and humid.
