• This is a method for preventing large amounts of overspray and involves thinning the synthetic in the normal way for cold spraying, then heating the paint to 70°C which reduces the viscosity still further.

The paint can now be atomized perfectly at 20-25 psi, giving the same build as cold spray and a 20-30% saving in paint material. Because paint particles hit the surface at a much slower speed, so rebound and overspray are much reduced. This reduction in spray fog also gives the operator better and cleaner working conditions.
